Autumn Tour 1999 - Aberystwyth, 22-24th October

In an attempt to persuade more Aber ringers to join us on tours, we decided to move the mountain to mohammed

We had a fantastic turn out on this tour, were never even in danger of being short of ringers, and in fact it was hard to make sure everyone got their turn!

The weather was typically West Walean, and this made the driving (of which there was plenty) more than a little treacherous at times. We had no accidents though, and even though the hall seemed a long way from the pub, we all got plenty of drinking time.

The tour also afforded me with the opportunity to see and ring in the towers my Dad had rung in when he was WC, and Aber Master. There was a nice sense of completeness for me (sentimental bit over now....).

The ringing itself was a little on the patchy side, but we did have some good spliced major. We also had a tenor-grabber, but enough about that.

It was good to meed so many of the Aber ringers and hope to see many more of them much more often.
