Master’s Quarter Peal Tour 2010 - Cardiff, 22nd-24th January

On Friday 22nd January 2010 my housemates left for what was apparently a “Quarter Peal Weekend”. They often talk about “bells” and “towers” in a thoroughly boring manner - it all sounds a bit cultish but who am I to say. On Sunday they returned in a state of shock and asked me to write the tour report. As I was not there, I have collected a variety of viewpoints on the weekend for your perusal:

  • There was a baaaa-utiful quarter of Grandsire Caters rung. Wool done to all of ewe especially Sarah Tadman for her first of Caters.
    - Rhys the Fflys

  • The quarter of Cambridge Major made me smile (particularly as it was Sarah West’s first in the method).
    - The Light

  • A quarter of Cambridge Minor was lost due to “conductor error”. One of the ringers was the same colour as myself.
    - The Yellow Sally at Peterston-Super-Ely

  • Another two quarters were lost, one of Bob Minor at Sully and one of Stedman Triples at Whitchurch.
    - 14 Temporarily Dejected Ringers

  • Takings at the Boar’s Head pub were vastly up on normal thanks to the presence of the Society on Friday and Saturday nights and for Sunday lunch.
    - Steve the Landlord’s brother

  • Inappropriate photos were taken.
    - Simon’s Camera

  • Much food was eaten from me and port and wine spilt upon me.
    - Paul and Sarah’s Tablecloth

  • Thanks to Paul and Sarah for organising and hosting a great tour.
    - The Society

  • There was a tour in 2010.
    - Giles Langston (25th January 2016)
That just about covers everything.

- Kim Landberger.
